Memorial Day is not just a day for me

Memorial day to me means we celebrate the armed forces past, present and fallen. For me however i celebrate them daily.Maybe it is because we are active duty air force.Maybe its because i can never forget what they did/are doing for our country. Not a day goes by that i do not think of our men and women serving this great country. To many people take freedom for granted i hope on this day they will remember those who have, are currently fighting and those who have given their lives in honor of this great nation.I cannot thank veterans and active duty military enough for what they are doing.

If you see one please thank them.It goes a long way.

Hold your head high wave your flag proudly.Your an American.
I am PROUD to be an American.

F-15s leaving Elmendorf

These are the plans my husband works. We wont know if we will be pcsing or going to the f-22s...we will know hopefully by the end of the year who knows though.

However i think its a bad decision to get rid of the f-15s.

F-15s leaving Elmendorf

The Associated Press
Posted : Wednesday May 20, 2009 22:04:37 EDT

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Elmendorf Air Force Base is losing its F-15 fleet.

Two dozen fighter jets are heading out of the base for good as the Air Force phases out the aging relics over the next year.

The Air Force says the change will free up money for other needed for other operations.

Col. Tom Bergeson says the decision will require some shuffling of about 500 personnel assigned to F-15 operations at Elmendorf.

Bergeson says many will be reassigned to other duties on base, such as F-22 Raptors, technologically advanced fighter jets.

Taking Chance

Taking Chance 5 stars but i think it deserves 10.

Based on an article by Marine Lt. Col. Michael Strobl, this HBO original film tells the story of Strobl's emotional experience traveling across America as a volunteer escort officer for the body of fallen 19-year-old soldier Chance Phelps. The 2004 journey was made especially significant by the fact that both Strobl and Phelps share the same hometown of Dubois, Wyo., with a population of less than 1,000.
-------------------
This movie was very very emotional for me.They did an excellent job and brought to light something that few people see The bringing home of a fallen soldier. This movie was excellent.Kevin Bacon did an extraordinary job in his role. You can tell he took this role seriously.I really cannot say enough good things about this film.It really brought to life bringing the soldiers home to their final resting place.
